What fasting rules apply on Masik Shivratri (Vaishakha)?
Devotees observe a day-long fast from sunrise, avoiding grains and non-vegetarian food. Fruits, milk, and water (or a strict nirjala fast) are permitted. The fast ideally continues through the night vigil and is broken the next morning after Shiva puja.
