Who creates VedKosh
VedKosh is built by a small independent team devoted to authentic Hindu devotional and Vedic content. Our publishing standard is to use primary scriptural sources for devotional content and to explain how calculation tools and automated features work.
Sources we rely on
Our editorial standard is to check scriptural content against the original Sanskrit sources — the Vedas, Puranas, Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana and classical Jyotisha texts such as the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra. For interpretation we recommend only public-domain classical commentaries (Adi Shankaracharya, Ramanujacharya, Madhvacharya, Vallabhacharya). Panchang data follows generic Vedic Panchang computation (IST); we never reproduce content from commercial publishers.
How our calculations work
Kundali and Panchang calculation tools use VedKosh's deterministic engine: planetary positions from the open-source astronomy-engine library, the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsha, whole-sign houses with a Sripati chalit cross-check, and birth-place-correct historical timezones. Consult each tool for its conventions and assumptions. Chat and palm interpretations are separate features and should not be treated as equivalent to these astronomical calculations.
Independent review
Our publishing standard calls for a separate reviewer to check authenticity, language, cultural policy and technical correctness. Contact us with questions about the source or review of a specific passage.
Automated features
AstroChat, some optional report summaries and the optional palm interpretation when enabled use generative AI. Responses can contain errors and do not replace a priest, scholar or qualified professional. Distinguish computed results from traditional interpretations and automated replies; verify important meanings, dates and rituals independently.
Corrections
Found an error? Write to contact@vedkosh.com. Reports are reviewed within 48 hours; verified errors are fixed promptly and the page's last-updated date reflects the change.
What we never do
No fabricated ratings or reviews. No fear-based astrology or pressure to buy remedies. No reproduction of copyrighted modern works. VedKosh is a Hindu devotional platform and stays fully within that scope.
