Shitala Satam (Bhadra Krishna Saptami) is uniquely celebrated in Gujarat. The day before — Randhan Chhath — women cook two days' food. On Satam, only cold food (prepared the day before) is served — no cooking. Shitala Mata is the goddess of health and disease prevention.

Step 1

Randhan Chhath: Preparing Food

On Randhan Chhath, prepare the special inamti dishes — this is the last cooking before Satam.

Step 2

Shitala Satam: Puja and Cold Food

Worship Shitala Mata and eat the cold food prepared the day before.
