Haridwar: nearest railhead is Haridwar Junction; nearest airport Dehradun (Jolly Grant). On Shahi Snan days the city enforces vehicle restrictions, so use designated parking and the shuttle/walking routes. Nashik: nearest railhead is Nashik Road; nearest airports Nashik/Aurangabad, with good road access from Mumbai and Pune; Trimbakeshwar is ~30 km from Nashik. What is Shahi Snan?
Shahi Snan (royal bath, now often called Amrit Snan) is the central ritual of the Kumbh. On the most auspicious tithis the akharas and their sadhus bathe first in procession, after which the public bathes.
