What is the Kumbh Mela and where is it held?
The Kumbh Mela is the world’s largest religious gathering, where millions bathe at a sacred river to wash away sins. It rotates among four tirthas — Prayagraj (Sangam of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati), Haridwar (Ganga), Ujjain (Shipra) and Nashik (Godavari) — based on specific planetary positions of Jupiter, the Sun and the Moon.
