जौं आवइ मर्कट कटकाई। जिअहिं बिचारे निसिचर खाई॥ कंपहिं लोकप जाकी त्रासा। तासु नारि सभीत बड़ि हासा॥२॥

Meaning (English)
Ravana mocks: 'If a monkey army comes, our poor demons will simply eat them and live off them. The wife of one before whom the guardians of the worlds tremble — she being afraid is a great joke indeed.'
Meaning (Hindi) · भावार्थ
यदि वानरों की सेना आती है तो बेचारे राक्षस उन्हें खा-खाकर जिएँगे। जिसके भय से लोकपाल (दिक्पाल) काँपते हैं, उसकी पत्नी का डर खाना — यह बड़ी हँसी की बात है।
