जौं न होति सीता सुधि पाई। मधुबन के फल सकहिं कि खाई॥ एहि बिधि मन बिचार करि राजा। आइ गए कपि सहित समाजा॥ १॥

Meaning (English)
Had they not received tidings of Sita, could they possibly have eaten the fruits of Madhuvana? Reflecting thus in his heart, King Sugriva came to Shree Rama along with the entire company of vanaras.

यदि सीता जी का समाचार न मिला होता तो क्या ये वानर मधुवन के फल खा सकते थे? इस प्रकार मन में विचार कर राजा सुग्रीव जी वानर-समाज सहित (राम के पास) आ गए।
