Aranya Kand Verse 48
दीप सिखा सम जुबति तन मन जनि होसि पतंग।
भजहि राम तजि काम मद करहि सदा सतसंग ॥ ४६(ख) ॥dīpa sikhā sama jubati tana mana jani hosi pataṃga|

bhajahi rama taji kama mada karahi sada satasamga 46(kha) This is the closing sub-doha of the Aranya Kand, delivered as a final counsel: 'The body of a young woman is like the flame of a lamp — O mind, do not become the moth that rushes into it.' Worship Ram, abandon lust and arrogance, and always keep the company of the righteous — this is the kand's parting exhortation, sealing its spiritual teaching on detachment, the dangers of unguarded desire, and the supreme refuge of Ram's name and satsang.
यह अरण्यकाण्ड का समापन सोरठा है — 'दीप सिखा सम जुबति तन, मन जनि होसि पतंग। भजहि राम तजि काम मद, करहि सदा सतसंग।' युवती का शरीर दीपक की लौ के समान है जो पतंगे को भस्म कर देती है — हे मन, तू उस पतंग की तरह मत बन। राम को भजो, काम और मद को छोड़ो और सदा सत्संग करो — यह काण्ड का अन्तिम उपदेश है।
