य एनं वेत्ति हन्तारं यश्चैनं मन्यते हतम्।
उभौ तौ न विजानीतो नायं हन्ति न हन्यते।।2.19।।
Roman (IAST)
ya enaṃ vetti hantāraṃ yaścainaṃ manyate hatam|
ubhau tau na vijānīto nāyaṃ hanti na hanyate||2.19||
Simple transliteration
ya enam vetti hantaram yashcainam manyate hatam
ubhau tau na vijanito nayam hanti na hanyate2.19
Meaning
Meaning (English)

Neither the one who thinks the soul can kill nor the one who thinks it can be killed understands the truth. The soul neither kills nor is killed — it is beyond all physical actions.

जो इसे (आत्मा को) मारने वाला समझता है और जो इसे मरा हुआ मानता है — वे दोनों नहीं जानते। यह न मारता है और न मारा जाता है।
