Why the Day is 'Imperishable'
Per the Bhavishya Purana, four major events happened on Vaishakha Shukla Tritiya: (1) Treta Yuga began. (2) Sage Vyasa began narrating the Mahabharata to Ganesha. (3) Lord Krishna gave Draupadi the Akshaya Patra — an inexhaustible vessel that fed unlimited guests. (4) Lord Parashurama (Vishnu's 6th avatar) was born to Renuka and Jamadagni.
