About this Aarti
Aarti of Bhagwan Parshuram, Vishnu's sixth avatar and chiranjivi sage-warrior, sung on Akshaya Tritiya (Parshuram Jayanti) and at Brahmin samaj functions.
Recited on Akshaya Tritiya (Parshuram Jayanti — Vaishakh Shukla Tritiya) and during Brahmin samaj annual gatherings.
Parshuram is the sixth of the dashavatara of Lord Vishnu and is regarded as a chiranjivi (eternally living) sage-warrior. He is the patron deity of many Brahmin communities — particularly in Konkan, Goud Saraswat, Kerala (Bhargava region), Maharashtra (Chitpavan), and the Hindi belt — and the destroyer of the adharmic Sahasrarjuna and the unrighteous kshatriyas of his time. He gifted the axe to Bhishma, taught archery to Drona and Karna, and met Lord Rama at the time of Sita Swayamvara.
Significance & Importance
This aarti glorifies Parshuram as the brahmana-kshatriya hero who restored dharma, the chiranjivi guru of three great warriors of the Mahabharata, and the patron of Brahmin samaj. Singing on Akshaya Tritiya is believed to bestow courage, wisdom, and strength of dharma.
