Meaning (English)
On hearing the letter, Ravana's heart was filled with fear, but he put on a smile and declared for all to hear: 'This is like one lying on the ground trying to grasp the sky — mere verbal sport of a petty ascetic.'
Meaning (Hindi) · भावार्थ
पत्र सुनकर रावण का मन तो भयभीत हो गया, किंतु मुख पर मुस्कान लाकर उसने सबको सुनाते हुए कहा — यह तो भूमि पर पड़े हुए का आकाश पकड़ने जैसी बात है; यह एक छोटे तपस्वी की वाणी-विलास मात्र है।
