काम एष क्रोध एष रजोगुणसमुद्भवः।
महाशनो महापाप्मा विद्ध्येनमिह वैरिणम्।।3.37।।

kāma eṣa krodha eṣa rajoguṇasamudbhavaḥ|
mahāśano mahāpāpmā viddhyenamiha vairiṇam||3.37||

Meaning
Meaning (English)

Krishna answers: It is desire and anger, born of the mode of passion (rajas), that are the all-devouring, sinful enemies of the world. Desire is the root cause of all wrongdoing.

श्रीभगवान् बोले — यह काम है, यही क्रोध है, जो रजोगुण से उत्पन्न होता है; यह महान् भक्षक और महापापी है। इसे ही तुम इस जगत् में अपना शत्रु जानो।
