यं यं वापि स्मरन्भावं त्यजत्यन्ते कलेवरम्।
तं तमेवैति कौन्तेय सदा तद्भावभावितः।।8.6।।
Roman (IAST)
yaṃ yaṃ vāpi smaranbhāvaṃ tyajatyante kalevaram|
taṃ tamevaiti kaunteya sadā tadbhāvabhāvitaḥ||8.6||
Simple transliteration
yam yam vapi smaranbhavam tyajatyante kalevaram
tam tamevaiti kaunteya sada tadbhavabhavitah8.6
Meaning
Meaning (English)

Whatever state of being one remembers when leaving the body, that state one will attain without fail. The mind at the moment of death is shaped by the thoughts cultivated throughout life.

Meaning (Hindi) · अर्थ

हे कौन्तेय! अन्तकाल में जिस किसी भी भाव को स्मरण करता हुआ शरीर को त्यागता है, वह सदैव उस भाव के चिन्तन के फलस्वरूप उसी भाव को ही प्राप्त होता है।
