Fill kalash with water. Add mango leaves. Place coconut on top. Wrap gold thread around it.

Worship Maa Lakshmi with 16 offerings. Say "Om Varalakshmyai Namah" for each offering.

"Om Shrim Hrim Varalakshmyai Namah" — 108 times. Then recite Sri Suktam.

After puja, tie the golden thread (mani-dora) on your wrist. This is the most important step of the vrat.

Offer kheer, peda and fruit. Perform Mahalakshmi Aarti. Distribute prasad.
