Multi-deity Bhojpuri bhakti collection — Krishna Janmashtami, Navratri Durga, and Shiva Sawan devotional songs from Bihar and Eastern UP folk tradition
Krishna, Durga, Shiva
Significance & Importance
The Bhojpuri-speaking region of Bihar and Eastern UP has one of India's richest traditions of folk devotional music. Unlike the film bhajan industry, these folk compositions emerge from village pujaris, grandmothers, and folk singers who pass songs down through oral tradition. Each festival — Janmashtami, Navratri, and Shiva's Shravan month — has its own bhakti repertoire that binds communities across caste and class lines. This collection preserves that living tradition for future generations.
