Maa Gayatri is the personified form of the supreme Gayatri Mantra of the Rigveda (3.62.10) and is hailed as the mother of all four Vedas. She is the supreme upasya of the Sandhya rite performed by every dvija (twice-born). The Gayatri Pariwar founded by Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya at Shantikunj, Haridwar, has revived popular Gayatri upasana across India.
