Simple transliteration
kabikula jivanu pavana jani rama siya jasu mamgala khani tehi te maim kachu kaha bakhani karana punita hetu nija bani
Meaning (English)
Knowing that the glory of Rama and Sita is the very life of the community of poets and a mine of all auspiciousness, I (Tulsidas) have narrated a little of it — to sanctify my own speech by this act of telling.

राम-सीता का यश कवि-समाज का जीवन है और मंगल की खान है — यह जानकर मैंने (तुलसीदास ने) इसे थोड़ा-सा कहा, ताकि अपनी वाणी को पवित्र कर सकूँ।
