Ayodhya Kand Verse 286
प्रिय परिजनहि मिली बैदेही। जो जेहि जोगु भाँति तेहि तेही ॥
तापस बेष जानकी देखी। भा सबु बिकल बिषाद बिसेषी ॥
जनक राम गुर आयसु पाई। चले थलहि सिय देखी आई ॥
लीन्हि लाइ उर जनक जानकी। पाहुन पावन पेम प्रान की ॥
उर उमगेउ अंबुधि अनुरागू। भयउ भूप मनु मनहुँ पयागू ॥
सिय सनेह बटु बाढ़त जोहा। ता पर राम पेम सिसु सोहा ॥
चिरजीवी मुनि ग्यान बिकल जनु। बूड़त लहेउ बाल अवलंबनु ॥
मोह मगन मति नहिं बिदेह की। महिमा सिय रघुबर सनेह की ॥
दो. सिय पितु मातु सनेह बस बिकल न सकी सँभारि।
धरनिसुताँ धीरजु धरेउ समउ सुधरमु बिचारि ॥ २८६ ॥priya parijanahi milī baidehī| jo jehi jogu bhā~ti tehi tehī ||

janaka rāma gura āyasu pāī| cale thalahi siya dekhī āī ||

ura umageu aṃbudhi anurāgū| bhayau bhūpa manu manahu~ payāgū ||
siya saneha baṭu bāḍha़ta johā| tā para rāma pema sisu sohā ||
cirajīvī muni gyāna bikala janu| būḍa़ta laheu bāla avalaṃbanu ||
moha magana mati nahiṃ bideha kī| mahimā siya raghubara saneha kī ||
do. siya pitu mātu saneha basa bikala na sakī sa~bhāri|

do. siya pitu matu saneha basa bikala na saki sa~bhari
dharanisuta~ dhiraju dhareu samau sudharamu bicari 286 Vaidehi (Sita) met her dear family members — each in the manner and to the degree befitting them. Seeing Sita in the attire of an ascetic, all became deeply distressed and grief-stricken. With the permission of Janak, Ram, and the guru, people came to that place to have Sita's darshan. Janak drew Janaki to his chest — she was the pure, beloved guest of his love and life's breath. An ocean of affection surged in his heart; the king's mind became like the Prayag where rivers meet — the confluence of the stream of Sita's love and the child-current of Ram's love. As Janak watched, even the sage's composure was shaken, as though an ageless sage, about to drown, grasped a child for support. Even the king of Mithila being overwhelmed into delusion by the greatness of the love between Sita and Raghurai is understandable. Sita herself could not hold herself steady, overcome by love for her father and mother; then Dharanisuta (daughter of the earth) Sita, considering the time and the path of right conduct, steadied herself with great fortitude.
वैदेही (सीता) ने अपने प्रिय परिजनों से भेंट की — जो जिस भाँति और जितने योग्य था उस भाँति उससे मिलीं। सीता को तापस वेश में देखकर सब अत्यन्त विकल और विषादग्रस्त हो गए। जनक, राम और गुरु की आज्ञा पाकर वहाँ के स्थल पर सीता के दर्शन के लिए आए। जनक ने जानकी को हृदय से लगाया — वह प्रेम-प्राण की पवित्र पाहुनी थी। हृदय में स्नेह का सागर उमड़ आया, राजा का मन मानो प्रयाग बन गया जहाँ दो नदियाँ मिलती हैं — सीता-स्नेह की वटुक (बालक) नदी और राम-प्रेम के शिशु का संगम। देखते ही देखते मुनि भी ज्ञान-विकल हो गए मानो जन्म से चिरजीवी ऋषि डूबते-डूबते बाल को थाम ले। सीता और रघुनाथ के स्नेह की महिमा से मोह-मग्न हो जाना भी मिथिला-नरेश को क्षम्य है। सीता पिता-माता के स्नेह में विकल होकर स्वयं को सँभाल न सकीं; तब धरनीसुता (पृथ्वीसुता) सीता ने समय और सुधर्म का विचार कर धैर्य धारण किया।
