Meaning (English)
Ravana sneers: 'Where in the world can there be victory or glory for one whose minister is a coward like Vibhishana?' Hearing these wicked words, the messenger (Shuka) grew angry, but considering the moment, he wisely drew out the letter.

जिसका मंत्री भीरु विभीषण जैसा हो, उसे जगत में विजय और ऐश्वर्य कहाँ? खल रावण के ये वचन सुनकर दूत (शुक) को क्रोध बढ़ा, किंतु समय का विचार कर उसने पत्र निकाली।
