चलेउ नाइ सिर पैठेउ बागा। फल खाएसि तरु तोरैं लागा॥ रहे तहाँ बहु भट रखवारे। कछु मारेसि कछु जाइ पुकारे॥ १॥

Meaning (English)

After bowing to Mother Sita, Shree Hanuman entered the Ashoka garden and began eating its fruits and uprooting its trees. Many warrior-guards kept watch there — some were slain by Shree Hanuman and others fled crying out in alarm.

Meaning (Hindi) · भावार्थ

माता सीता को प्रणाम कर श्री हनुमान् जी अशोक वाटिका में प्रवेश कर गए। वहाँ उन्होंने फल खाए और वृक्षों को तोड़ने लगे। उद्यान में अनेक योद्धा (भट) पहरेदार थे — कुछ को श्री हनुमान् जी ने मार डाला और कुछ प्राण बचाकर पुकारते हुए भाग गए।
