Naina Devi Temple

Significance

Naina Devi Temple is situated atop a hill and is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths. According to legend, the eyes of Goddess Sati fell at this location, hence the name 'Naina' (eyes). The temple complex offers a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It is especially crowded during Navratri and other festivals.

नैना देवी मंदिर एक पहाड़ी की चोटी पर स्थित है और 51 शक्तिपीठों में से एक है। पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार, देवी सती के नेत्र इस स्थान पर गिरे थे, इसलिए यह नाम 'नैना' (आँखें) पड़ा। मंदिर परिसर आसपास के पहाड़ों और घाटियों का मनोरम दृश्य प्रस्तुत करता है। नवरात्रि और अन्य त्योहारों के दौरान यहां विशेष भीड़ होती है।

Legend & History

The temple has a rich history dating back to the 8th century. It is believed that a shepherd boy discovered the idol while grazing his cattle. The temple was later renovated by Raja Bir Chand of Bilaspur. The temple complex includes shrines for Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman. Pilgrims believe that the goddess fulfills all wishes of her devotees.

मंदिर का समृद्ध इतिहास 8वीं शताब्दी से है। माना जाता है कि एक चरवाहा लड़के ने अपने पशुओं को चराते समय मूर्ति की खोज की थी। मंदिर को बाद में बिलासपुर के राजा बीर चंद द्वारा पुनर्निर्मित किया गया था। मंदिर परिसर में भगवान गणेश और भगवान हनुमान के मंदिर शामिल हैं। तीर्थयात्रियों का मानना है कि देवी अपने भक्तों की सभी इच्छाओं को पूरा करती हैं।
