Vaishno Devi Temple

Significance

Vaishno Devi is one of the most revered Hindu temples and one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in India, attracting millions of devotees annually. The shrine is located in a cave at an altitude of 5,200 feet. The goddess manifests in three natural rock formations called Pindies representing Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati.

वैष्णो देवी सबसे पूजनीय हिंदू मंदिरों में से एक है और भारत में सबसे अधिक देखे जाने वाले तीर्थ स्थलों में से एक है, जो सालाना लाखों भक्तों को आकर्षित करता है। यह मंदिर 5,200 फीट की ऊंचाई पर एक गुफा में स्थित है। देवी तीन प्राकृतिक चट्टान संरचनाओं में प्रकट होती हैं जिन्हें पिंडियां कहा जाता है जो महाकाली, महालक्ष्मी और महासरस्वती का प्रतिनिधित्व करती हैं।

Legend & History

According to legend, Vaishno Devi was born as Vaishnavi to fulfill the purpose of killing the demon Mahishasura. She meditated in the cave for nine months before finally killing the demon Bhairon Nath who was pursuing her. After his death, Bhairon Nath realized his mistake and sought forgiveness. The goddess blessed him, and now pilgrims visit his temple after darshan at Vaishno Devi.

पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार, वैष्णो देवी का जन्म वैष्णवी के रूप में राक्षस महिषासुर को मारने के उद्देश्य से हुआ था। उसने अंततः राक्षस भैरों नाथ को मारने से पहले नौ महीने तक गुफा में तपस्या की जो उसका पीछा कर रहा था। उसकी मृत्यु के बाद, भैरों नाथ को अपनी गलती का एहसास हुआ और उसने क्षमा मांगी। देवी ने उसे आशीर्वाद दिया, और अब तीर्थयात्री वैष्णो देवी के दर्शन के बाद उसके मंदिर जाते हैं।
