Kedarnath

Significance

Located in the Himalayas at an altitude of 3,583 meters. One of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. The temple is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and glaciers.

3,583 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर हिमालय में स्थित। चार धाम तीर्थ स्थलों में से एक। मंदिर बर्फ से ढके चोटियों और ग्लेशियरों से घिरा हुआ है।

Legend & History

After the Mahabharata war, the Pandavas sought Lord Shiva's forgiveness. Shiva avoided them by taking the form of a bull. When Bhima tried to catch him, Shiva went underground, leaving his hump visible. This hump is worshipped as the Kedarnath Jyotirlinga.

महाभारत युद्ध के बाद, पांडवों ने भगवान शिव से क्षमा मांगी। शिव ने बैल का रूप धारण कर उनसे बचने की कोशिश की। जब भीम ने उन्हें पकड़ने की कोशिश की, तो शिव भूमिगत हो गए, केवल अपना कूबड़ दिखाई देता रहा। इस कूबड़ को केदारनाथ ज्योतिर्लिंग के रूप में पूजा जाता है।
