Significance
Located on an island shaped like the sacred 'Om' symbol, formed by the Narmada river. The island of Mandhata is considered highly sacred.
पवित्र 'ॐ' प्रतीक के आकार के द्वीप पर स्थित, जो नर्मदा नदी द्वारा निर्मित है। मांधाता द्वीप को अत्यधिक पवित्र माना जाता है।
Legend & History
The Vindhya mountain range prayed to Lord Shiva for importance equal to Mount Kailash. Pleased with the penance, Shiva manifested as Omkareshwar and Amaleshwar (Amareshwar) on the two sides of the river.
विंध्य पर्वत श्रृंखला ने कैलाश पर्वत के बराबर महत्व के लिए भगवान शिव से प्रार्थना की। तपस्या से प्रसन्न होकर, शिव नदी के दोनों किनारों पर ओंकारेश्वर और अमलेश्वर (अमरेश्वर) के रूप में प्रकट हुए।
