🙏 The Sacred Idol

The idol shows Hanuman in a standing posture facing east, with his eyes fixed on Lord Rama. The deity is adorned with sindoor (vermillion) and worshipped as 'Sankat Mochan' - the remover of all troubles.

मूर्ति हनुमान जी को खड़ी मुद्रा में पूर्व की ओर मुंह करके दिखाती है, उनकी नजरें भगवान राम पर टिकी हैं। देवता को सिंदूर से सजाया जाता है और 'संकटमोचन' के रूप में पूजा जाता है - सभी संकटों को दूर करने वाले।

Significance

This temple was founded by the great saint and poet Goswami Tulsidas in the early 16th century. It is believed that Tulsidas had a vision of Lord Hanuman at this very spot. The temple is famous for its power to remove all obstacles and troubles from devotees' lives. Every Tuesday and Saturday, thousands of devotees throng the temple. The temple is also known for its annual Sankat Mochan Sangeet Samaroh, a five-day classical music festival.

यह मंदिर महान संत और कवि गोस्वामी तुलसीदास द्वारा 16वीं शताब्दी की शुरुआत में स्थापित किया गया था। माना जाता है कि तुलसीदास ने इसी स्थान पर भगवान हनुमान का दर्शन किया था। यह मंदिर भक्तों के जीवन से सभी बाधाओं और संकटों को दूर करने की अपनी शक्ति के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। हर मंगलवार और शनिवार को हजारों श्रद्धालु मंदिर में उमड़ते हैं। यह मंदिर अपने वार्षिक संकटमोचन संगीत समारोह के लिए भी जाना जाता है, जो पांच दिवसीय शास्त्रीय संगीत महोत्सव है।

Legend & History

According to tradition, Tulsidas was writing the Ramcharitmanas when he encountered various obstacles. Seeking divine intervention, he began meditating at this spot. Lord Hanuman appeared before him in person and blessed him. Overwhelmed with devotion, Tulsidas established this temple at the exact location of the divine darshan. It is said that Hanuman promised to always protect his devotees who come here with true faith, thus earning the name 'Sankat Mochan' (remover of troubles).

परंपरा के अनुसार, तुलसीदास रामचरितमानस लिख रहे थे जब उन्हें विभिन्न बाधाओं का सामना करना पड़ा। दैवीय हस्तक्षेप की तलाश में, उन्होंने इस स्थान पर ध्यान करना शुरू किया। भगवान हनुमान स्वयं उनके सामने प्रकट हुए और उन्हें आशीर्वाद दिया। भक्ति से अभिभूत होकर, तुलसीदास ने दिव्य दर्शन के ठीक स्थान पर इस मंदिर की स्थापना की। कहा जाता है कि हनुमान ने वादा किया कि वे हमेशा अपने उन भक्तों की रक्षा करेंगे जो सच्ची श्रद्धा के साथ यहां आते हैं, इस प्रकार 'संकटमोचन' (संकटों को दूर करने वाले) नाम मिला।
