ЁЯУЦ Vrat Katha (рд╡реНрд░рдд рдХрдерд╛)
The traditional story recounts how Maa Durga, created by the combined powers of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, battled and defeated the demon Mahishasura who had conquered the three worlds. After nine nights of fierce battle, the Goddess slew Mahishasura on the tenth day (Vijayadashami), restoring Dharma and peace. Devotees observe the fast to invoke her divine protection and blessings.
