๐ Significance of Akshaya Tritiya
"Akshaya" means that which never diminishes. Akshaya Tritiya falls on Vaishakh Shukla Tritiya. It is one of the 3.5 most auspicious Muhurtas in Hinduism (others: Dussehra, Gudi Padwa, and half of Diwali). Work, charity, worship, and investments done on this day are said to yield eternal, inexhaustible (Akshaya) results.
According to the Puranas, Treta Yuga began on this day, Ganga descended from heaven to earth, and Bhagavan Parashuram was born. It is also the birthday of Maharshi Veda Vyasa.
