Songkran — Thai New Year rooted in Sanskrit "Sankranti" (solar transit). Key rituals: Rod Nam Dum Hua (pouring scented water on elders' hands), bathing Buddha and Hindu deities, merit-making at temples, sand pagoda building, releasing birds and fish. April 13-15.
April 13-15 (Maha Songkran)
Early morning April 13 — Maha Songkran Day

- Scented water (Nam Ob)
- Jasmine and rose flowers
- Thanaka powder (white paste)
- Rice and dried food for monks
- Sand for sand pagoda
- Candles and incense
- Silver bowl for water blessing
📋 ขั้นตอนพิธีบูชา
ขั้นตอน 1: Merit Making
ตื่นเช้า ตักบาตรพระสงฆ์ ถวายอาหาร ดอกไม้ เทียน ธูป ทำบุญที่วัด Wake early, give alms to monks. Offer food, flowers, candles, incense. Make merit at temple.
ขั้นตอน 2: Bathing Sacred Images
นำน้ำอบไทยรดพระพุทธรูปและเทวรูปฮินดู เสริมสิริมงคล Pour scented water over Buddha images and Hindu deity statues for blessings.
ขั้นตอน 3: Rod Nam Dum Hua
เตรียมน้ำอบ ดอกมะลิ ในขันเงิน รดน้ำมือผู้ใหญ่ พ่อแม่ ปู่ย่า ตายาย ขอพร ขอขมา Prepare scented water with jasmine in silver bowl. Pour over elders' hands — parents, grandparents. Ask for blessings and forgiveness.
ขั้นตอน 4: Sand Pagoda
ขนทรายเข้าวัด ก่อเจดีย์ทราย ประดับธงทิว ดอกไม้ เป็นการทดแทนทรายที่ติดเท้าออกจากวัด Carry sand to temple, build sand pagodas decorated with flags and flowers.
ขั้นตอน 5: Release Birds & Fish
ปล่อยนก ปล่อยปลา ปล่อยเต่า เสริมบุญ ต่ออายุ Release birds, fish, and turtles for merit and longevity.
