चौपाई 1

जय गणेश गिरिजा सुवन, मंगल मूल सुजान।
कहत अयोध्यादास तुम, देहु अभय वरदान॥

Glory to Ganesha, son of Girija, auspicious and wise.
Ayodhyadas says — grant fearlessness as a boon.

चौपाई 2

जय जय श्री शनिदेव प्रभु, सुनहु विनय महाराज।
करहु कृपा हे रवि तनय, राखहु जन की लाज॥

Glory glory to Lord Shani, hear my prayer, great king.
Show grace, O son of Surya, protect the dignity of devotees.

चौपाई 3

जन्म जन्म के पाप हरहु, होय जन्म शुभ सोय।
आठ वर्ष की आयु में, परीक्षा लेत अभी सोय॥

Erase sins of birth after birth, may birth itself become holy.
You test devotees even at eight years of age.

चौपाई 4

पुत्र कलत्र धन सम्पदा, यदि लेत हरि नाम।
बाधा सब दूर होय जाय, पूर्ण होय सब काम॥

Children, spouse, wealth — if one takes Hari's name,
All obstacles vanish and every task is fulfilled.

चौपाई 5

तन बल बुद्धि विद्या दहो, मति अनुसार फल देहि।
सुख सम्पत्ति देहु राज, सदा शरण रहि तेहि॥

Grant strength of body, intellect, and learning proportionate to devotion.
Give happiness and wealth; let the devotee always stay in your shelter.

चौपाई 6

जो पावे शनि दर्शन को, भव भय दूर भगाय।
सुन हमरी विनती प्रभु, दर्शन देहु दिखाय॥

Whoever gets the sight of Shani, fear of existence flees away.
Hear our prayer O Lord — grant us your auspicious darshan.

चौपाई 7

त्रिगुण माया मे विचरत, तन मन धन लेत।
शनि कृपा से सब मिले, जो शनि सेवा देत॥

You move through the three-guned Maya, taking body mind and wealth.
Through Shani's grace all is regained by one who serves Shani.

चौपाई 8

राम कथा सुनत रहो, मन चंचल मत होय।
शनि देव प्रसन्न हों, तो बाधा दूर होय॥

Keep listening to Rama's story, do not let the mind waver.
When Lord Shani is pleased, every obstacle moves away.

चौपाई 9

श्याम वर्ण विशाल तन, सूर्यपुत्र महाराज।
छाया माता के नंदन, करहु हमारो काज॥

Dark-hued and of great stature, son of Surya the great king.
Son of Chhaya, your mother — fulfill our work.

चौपाई 10

नीलांबर धारण किए, गृध्रवाहन सवार।
लोहे का धनुष हाथ में, काल के अवतार॥

Dressed in blue, riding the vulture-mount,
With an iron bow in hand — you are the avatar of time.

चौपाई 11

नीलम पत्थर प्रिय तुम्हें, लोहा आयुध काम।
काले तिल काला उड़द, तुमको अतिप्रिय ताम॥

Sapphire is dear to you, iron is your weapon.
Black sesame and urad dal are your greatest favourites.

चौपाई 12

दशा दशा परिवर्तन है, ढैय्या साढ़ेसाती।
करम भोगते नर सभी, कोई न बचत राती॥

You change the dasha after dasha, bring dhaiyya and sade-sati.
All humans experience the fruits of karma — none escapes in the night.

चौपाई 13

शिव शंभु की भक्ति से, कुछ शनि ग्रह खुश होत।
हनुमत सेवा करके भी, शनि दोष दूर होत॥

Devotion to Shiva Shambhu pleases Shani somewhat.
Serving Hanuman also removes Shani's afflictions.

चौपाई 14

गुरु की सेवा करते रहो, माता पिता सम्मान।
शनि देव प्रसन्न हों, होत शुभ गुण खान॥

Keep serving the Guru, honour mother and father.
Shani is pleased, a mine of virtuous qualities is opened.

चौपाई 15

रत्न धारण ध्यान से, विद्वान से परामर्श।
नीलम धारण शुभ करे, नहीं तो कठिन स्पर्श॥

Wear gemstones carefully — consult a learned one.
Sapphire done right brings luck; otherwise its touch is hard.

चौपाई 16

शनि मंदिर दर्शन को, शनिवार को जाय।
सरसों तेल चढ़ाय के, सुख संपत्ति पाय॥

Visit Shani's temple on Saturday.
Offering mustard oil brings happiness and wealth.

चौपाई 17

काला कपड़ा दान दो, काले जूते दान।
उड़द दाल देहु गरीब, होत शनि मेहरबान॥

Donate black cloth, donate black footwear.
Give urad dal to the poor — Shani becomes merciful.

चौपाई 18

गरीब असहाय जन की, करो सदा मदद।
शनि देव प्रसन्न हों, कटे ग्रह की कदद॥

Always help the poor and helpless.
Shani becomes pleased and the grip of planetary affliction is cut.

चौपाई 19

लोहे का दान दो नित्य, काला छाता लाय।
सरसों तेल दे दीपक, शनि ग्रह शांत पाय॥

Donate iron regularly, bring a black umbrella to give.
Light a mustard-oil lamp — Shani's planet is pacified.

चौपाई 20

शनि देव की आरती, जो गावे भक्त सोय।
घर में सुख शांति रहे, बाधा दूर होय॥

The devotee who sings Shani's aarti —
Peace and happiness remain in the home, obstacles depart.

चौपाई 21

सात वर्ष ढैय्या में, कष्ट जो पावे।
शनि चालीसा पाठ से, वो कष्ट बट जावे॥

Seven years of dhaiyya bring suffering to many.
Reading Shani Chalisa divides and dissolves that suffering.

चौपाई 22

साढ़ेसाती में घबराव मत, करो शनि सेवा।
याद करो हनुमत को, मिले दैवी मेवा॥

Don't panic during Sade Sati — serve Shani.
Remember Hanuman — you will receive divine fruit.

चौपाई 23

न्याय के देवता हो तुम, करते न्याय खुद।
पाप का फल देते सदा, पुण्य का देते खुद॥

You are the God of Justice — you deliver justice yourself.
You always give fruit of sin and personally give fruit of virtue.

चौपाई 24

दुष्टों को दण्ड देते, सज्जन को देत वर।
शनि की लीला अपरम्पार, कोई न जान सकत॥

You punish the wicked and grant boons to the righteous.
Shani's play is beyond measure — none can truly know it.

चौपाई 25

काल और काल का भय, तुमसे ही होत।
शनि की कृपा जिस पर, उसे क्या भय होत॥

Time and the fear of time — both originate from you.
On whom Shani's grace falls — what fear can touch them?

चौपाई 26

विक्रम राजा की कथा, शनि परीक्षा लीन।
साढ़ेसाती में कष्ट पाये, अन्त में कृपा दीन॥

The story of King Vikrama — Shani tested him.
In Sade Sati he suffered, but in the end grace was given.

चौपाई 27

नल राजा की कहानी, शनि ने किया परेशान।
कर्म के बल से बचे, मिले अंत में सम्मान॥

The tale of King Nala — Shani troubled him greatly.
Through the strength of karma he was saved, respect came in the end.

चौपाई 28

शनि देव के चरणों में, अर्पण करूँ फूल।
चालीसा पाठ का फल, मिले न जाय भूल॥

I offer flowers at Shani's feet.
May the fruit of reciting this Chalisa not go unfulfilled.

चौपाई 29

जो शनिवार को पढ़े, चालीसा एक बार।
शनि कृपा उस पर सदा, हो सुखी परिवार॥

Whoever reads this Chalisa once on Saturday —
Shani's grace stays on them always; the family becomes happy.

चौपाई 30

तेल का दीपक जलाओ, शनि मंदिर जाओ।
एकाग्र मन से पढ़ो, फल अवश्य पाओ॥

Light an oil lamp, go to Shani's temple.
Read with a focused mind — you will certainly receive fruit.

चौपाई 31

शनि देव की स्तुति का, यह फल मिले जान।
संतान धन और सम्पदा, बढ़े मान सम्मान॥

Know this as the fruit of praising Shani:
Children, wealth and prosperity increase; honour grows.

चौपाई 32

रोग दोष सब मिटे, आयु बढ़े विशेष।
मन में शांति आए सदा, मिटे सभी क्लेश॥

All diseases and faults are erased, life especially lengthens.
Peace comes to the mind always — all distress is removed.

चौपाई 33

व्यापार में सफलता हो, नौकरी में मान।
शनि की कृपा से मिले, हर काम में ध्यान॥

Success comes in business, honour in employment.
Through Shani's grace concentration comes to every task.

चौपाई 34

शत्रु नाश होत सदा, मित्र बढ़त नित।
शनि चालीसा पाठ से, बदले जीवन चित॥

Enemies are always destroyed, friends grow daily.
With Shani Chalisa recitation, life's picture changes.

चौपाई 35

मकर और कुम्भ में, शनि का राज्य खास।
इन राशि वालों के लिए, शनि कृपा उजास॥

In Capricorn and Aquarius Shani's rule is special.
For those of these signs — Shani's grace is a radiance.

चौपाई 36

प्रतिकूल शनि हो जब, करो ये उपाय।
काले तिल तेल दान से, शनि प्रसन्न पाय॥

When Shani is unfavourable — do these remedies.
Through donation of black sesame and oil, Shani becomes pleased.

चौपाई 37

शनि यंत्र धारण करो, पूजा नित्य करो।
शनि मंत्र का जाप करो, भय मन से हरो॥

Wear Shani Yantra, perform daily puja.
Chant Shani mantra — remove fear from the mind.

चौपाई 38

शनि सेवा का फल यही, जीवन में शांति पाय।
आयोध्या दास कहत हैं, शनि चालीसा गाय॥

This is the fruit of Shani service — peace in life is attained.
Ayodhya Das says: sing the Shani Chalisa.

जय जय जय शनिदेव की, सुनो हमारी बात।
भक्त जनों की रक्षा करो, दिन और रात॥

Victory, victory, victory to Lord Shani — hear our words.
Protect devotees day and night.
