📖 Savitri-Satyavan Katha (Summary)
Savitri, daughter of King Ashvapati, was radiant and virtuous. She chose Satyavan as her husband by her own will, even though astrologers warned that Satyavan had only one year to live. Exactly one year after their marriage, when Yama came to take Satyavan's soul, Savitri followed Yama. Yama granted her three boons — but not her husband's life. Finally, moved by Savitri's wisdom, devotion and steadfast truth, Yama granted Satyavan his life. This vrat is observed in memory of that unwavering love and dharma.

Morning 5–6 स्नान कर पीले या लाल वस्त्र पहनें। निराहार व्रत का संकल्प लें
6–7 बरगद के पेड़ के पास जाएं। जल, अक्षत, रोली, फूल, धागा लेकर जाएं
7 बरगद की जड़ में जल अर्पित करें। 7 बार धागा लपेटते हुए परिक्रमा करें
7:30 सावित्री-सत्यवान की कथा सुनें या पढ़ें (ऊपर दी गई)
8–9 "ॐ वट-वृक्षाय नमः" 108 बार जपें। पति की दीर्घायु के लिए प्रार्थना करें
Eveningसुहागन महिलाओं को सुहाग सामग्री दान करके व्रत पारण करें
