Ambaji is one of the most revered Shakti Peethas in India and the most powerful Devi shrine in Gujarat.
Located in Danta taluka of Banaskantha district, it sits at the foothills of the Aravalli range.
The temple marks the spot where Sati's (Goddess Parvati's) heart fell.

Millions of devotees visit Ambaji throughout the year, especially during Navratri, Purnima nights,
and Bhadarvi Poonam (Bhadra month full moon) — the largest annual gathering.

The presiding deity is Amba Mata (Ambaji) — the primordial goddess, Adyashakti.
There is no idol in the sanctum sanctorum — the yantra (sacred diagram) is worshipped.
The Ambaji Yantra is the divine manifestation of Amba Mata.

The temple is unique because:
• No idol is worshipped — only the Shri Yantra
• The goddess is referred to only as "Amba" — no other name
• Mirrors surround the sanctum to multiply the divine energy

Bhadarvi Poonam (Bhadra month full moon) sees 20–30 lakh pilgrims walk to Ambaji.
Many devotees walk bare-footed from distances of 50–500 km in devotion.
